HENRY
DE FRANCE
PÈRE FRANÇAIS DU MOULINET
A TAMBOUR FIXE (3/3)
Thanks
to its creation Henry de France who was at that time President of the sport
committee of Fishing Club de France (later on President of the Casting Club de
France) took part of the amazing international spinning competitions where he
attracted attention in the same way as the great amateurs of that time (such as
A.P. Decantelle, L. Perruche, L. Bouglé, Prince P. D’Arenberg, E. Louche and
so many other ones.)
He obtained several prizes and beated several records but he became above all the ambassador of Fishing for all by demonstrating that being able to spin didn’t depend on complicated and expensive equipment.
Hereunder is a picture of a rod fitted with a Rustique reel made by Henry
de France himself, and a text coming from ABDE magazine.
“The
green peas tin was touching and clever at a time, an easily made toy in which
everything was calculated and estimated and that was very effective after
all.”
